Bridgett Ross, PsyD
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
At present, I work at the Department of Veterans Affairs while also running a private practice. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy at Boston College. I then moved to San Diego from the East Coast to receive a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I completed pre-doctoral training at Social Advocates for Youth San Diego, Chadwick Center for Children & Families at Children's Hospital in San Diego, and at Kaiser Permanente in Point Loma. My post-doctoral training was simultaneously obtained as "Lead Post-Doctoral Fellow" at Alvarado Parkway Institute and in private practice. I have had a wide array of clinical experiences over the last ten years providing individual, group, couples, and family therpy. I have helped people of all ages with concerns ranging from normal reactions to life stressors to severe mental illness.
I create an adaptive, comfortable, and effective therapeutic environment by frequently checking in with clients about our relationship and whether "this is working." Furthermore, I am incredibly flexible in my approach with the intent of creating a therapeutic environment that is unique to your goals and interests. As a committed and invested therapist, I strive to see the world through your eyes. For instance, in order to better understand and help you, I go beyond sessions by doing research, reading books, and watching movies that 'speak to you' and/or seem to reflect your life.
